Albanians are electing mayors and members of municipal councils on June 30. Prime Minister Edi Rama was among early voters in the capital, Tirana. The closely followed polls are marked by tensions between Rama and the president, Ilir Meta. The main opposition parties are boycotting the voting amid fresh accusations that the government was involved in a vote-buying scheme in the 2017 parliamentary elections.
