Albanian Opposition To Protest Despite Warnings

Albania is bracing for more antigovernment protests today.

Supporters of the opposition Socialist Party plan to march in Tirana to honor the three antigovernment protesters killed a week ago.

Albanian police have warned they "could not guarantee" a good outcome of the rally.

Concerned over possible violence, the EU, the United States and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe appealed to the Socialists to reconsider holding the procession.

The OSCE urged Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Socialist leader Edi Rama to resume dialogue.
