Thousands of protesters took to the streets of the Armenian capital, Yerevan, 12 hours after police had violently broken up an earlier demonstration. Defying the crackdown, the protesters marched towards the police lines and chanted slogans. The protests, sparked by a 16 percent hike in the price of electricity, have been running for three days.
