Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian has dismissed the first deputy director of the country’s National Security Service, Hrant Yepiskoposian.
A statement from Sarkisian's press service on August 4 about the dismissal of Yepiskoposian did not state the reasons for the decision.
It said Yepiskoposian was being replaced at the post by Karapet Davtian.
Yepiskoposian's dismissal comes four days after the surrender of an armed opposition faction that occupied a police building in Yerevan for more than two weeks.
