Austrian police say an autopsy has found that former Libyan Oil Minister Shukri Ghanem drowned.
Police spokesman Roman Hahslinger said on April 30 that the autopsy on Ghanem's corpse found no signs of violence.
Ghanem's body was found on April 29 in the Danube river in the Austrian capital, Vienna, close to where he had a residence.
Hahslinger suggests the death may have been an accident and that Ghanem had complained to his daughter late on April 28 that he was feeling unwell.
He says no suicide note has been found and there is no indication that Ghanem tried to take his own life or was killed.
The police spokesman says the results of toxicological tests are expected later this week as part of the investigation into the drowning.
The body of Ghanem, 69, was found by a passer-by.
