Belarusian journalist Yury Hladchuk has been sentenced in Minsk to 30 months in prison, according to the deputy chairman of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, Barys Haretski. He did not specify when Hladchuk had been sentenced. Hladchuk was detained last summer and charged with the organization of actions that disrupt social order. In total, 34 journalists are currently behind bars in Belarus, most of whom were jailed following a disputed presidential election in August 2020 that handed a sixth term in office to strongman Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
