Belarusian Opposition Leader Detained Before Rally

Prominent Belarusian opposition leader Mikalay Statkevich was detained on his way to a rally in the capital, Minsk, on May 31. A video posted on social media shows men in plainclothes and face masks as they stopped a car in which Statkevich was sitting next to the driver. The men refused to identify themselves and took the car key from the driver. The actual detention was not caught on the video.
