Bomb Kills At Least Seven In Northwest Pakistan

A passenger van hit a roadside bomb in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least seven people and wounding at least three others.

The van was driving near the town of Parachinar, the only Shi'ite-dominated district in Pakistan's tribal region, when it hit the explosive device on June 3.

Local official Maqsud Hassan confirmed an improvised explosive device blew up when the van was passing by, calling it a sectarian attack.

Parachinar resident Ali Toori said all the fatalities were Sunni Muslims, however.

This latest attack came as Pakistan's military has stepped up activities against the Taliban and other militant groups located in the tribal areas.
