Roadside Bombs Kill At Least 10 In Afghanistan

Afghan officials say roadside bombs have killed at least 10 people in Afghanistan.

The deadliest attack on July 12 happened in southern Kandahar Province, where eight civilians were killed when a roadside bomb blew up their vehicle.

Two people were killed in a similar incident in eastern Nangarhar Province.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks but the Taliban have intensified their attacks as foreign combat troops prepare to withdraw from the country by the end of the year.

The United Nations this week said that the number of civilian casualties has risen by nearly 17 percent in the first half of 2014, compared with the same period of 2013.
