A trial date of October 16 has been set for Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, who is accused along with Milos Lukic, the head of Bosnia-Herzegovina's official legal gazette, of criminal offenses in connection with efforts to block the publication of decisions taken by international overseer Christian Schmidt. Dodik and Lukic were indicted last month after the National Assembly adopted laws attempting to circumvent Schmidt’s decisions. Lawyers for Dodik and Lukic say that the offense they face does not exist “because Schmidt is illegal." The court has rejected the claim as unfounded.
