The institution in charge of supervising Bosnia's justice system has suspended the country's chief prosecutor for alleged links with an international arms dealer.
The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council said on July 1 that Milorad Barasin was being suspended until disciplinary proceedings against him are concluded.
The investigation was launched after a local television station showed footage of Barasin meeting with Serbian arms dealer Slobodan Tesic, who has been blacklisted by the United Nations as a violator of sanctions against Liberia.
Barasin said his meeting was part of an investigation into arms smuggling through Bosnia.
