British police say they have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of involvement with cyber attacks on websites belonging to the CIA and the Sony Corporation, among others.
London's Metropolitan Police said the arrest took place following a joint operation between itself and the FBI.
The British police would not say if the suspect was tied to the Lulz Security hacking collective, which has claimed responsibility for recent high-profile attacks, including one on the CIA's public website.
Police said the suspect, who has not been identified, was arrested on suspicion of computer misuse and fraud.
Lulz Security said in a Twitter statement that the suspect was not a leader of the group, but that Lulz Security had used one of his servers.
In addition to the CIA and Sony, the Lulz group has claimed cyber attacks on Britain's anti-organized crime agency and the U.S. Senate's computer system.
