Canada has imposed sanctions on the National Bank of Belarus and the country's eight other major banks over Minsk's support of Russia's ongoing full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Although Belarus has not sent troops to Ukraine, authoritarian ruler Alyaksandr Lukashenka has let his country’s territory be used by Moscow's armed forces to launch attacks against Russia's western neighbor.
