The 15-year-old son of Ramzan Kadyrov, the authoritarian leader of Russia’s Chechnya region, has been awarded another medal, his third, after beating a prisoner accused of burning the Koran. The leader of Karachai-Cherkessia, a Russian republic in the Caucasus, awarded that region’s highest honor on October 25 to Adam Kadyrov. Rashid Temrezov did not mention the September beating of the prisoner in his statement, which praised Kadyrov’s son for his "personal contribution to the development of interethnic and interregional unity and the strengthening of traditional Islamic values."
