Clinton Tours Cairo's Tahrir Square

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has toured Cairo's Tahrir Square, the epicenter of the popular uprising that toppled Egypt's longtime autocratic leader last month.

Clinton is on a two-day visit to Egypt to press the country's new military rulers to follow through on pledges of democratic reform.

She is the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit Egypt since President Hosni Mubarak was forced to resign in mid-February.

Clinton was traveling later in the day to Tunisia.

The success of Tunisia's antigovernment protests in December inspired similar revolts in many countries in the Arab world.
