Local media cited officials in Russia's North Caucasus region of Daghestan on November 22 as saying that the former head coach of Daghestan's kickboxing team, Akhmad Akhmedov, is wanted in Russia on a high treason charge for joining Ukraine's armed forces to help repel Moscow’s ongoing invasion. Akhmedov, who trained 16 world champions in 15 years of work in Daghestan, moved to Ukraine in 2017 and last year became the deputy commander of the Imam Shamil battalion, which consists of natives of Daghestan in Ukraine's armed forces.
