Roadside Bomb Kills 16 In Western Afghanistan

Afghan officials says a roadside bomb has killed at least 16 people and wounded several others in Afghanistan's Herat Province.

Eleven children were among the dead.

Officials said the bomb exploded in Shindand district under a passenger vehicle carrying people back from a wedding party.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Roadside bombs are a major cause of civilian casualties in Afghanistan.
