The number of people killed in a central Pakistani city after eating poisoned baked goods has risen to 33.
Officials said on May 1 that 10 more people -- including five children -- had died in recent days from the incident, which occurred last week in the Karor Lal Esan area of Punjab Province.
Thirteen others are still hospitalized.
The sweets -- which had been accidentally tainted with pesticide when they were at the bakery -- were consumed at a party celebrating the birth of a baby.
Police investigator Haji Mohammad Akhtar told AFP that two sweet shop owners and one worker who were arrested after the incident will be brought to court on May 2.
Akhtar said lab tests showed the presence of farming pesticides in the sweets.
Pakistan has a reputation for poor food safety standards.
