Suspected U.S. Drone Strikes Kill 15 In Pakistan

Intelligence officials and residents say suspected U.S. drones have fired missiles in Pakistan's South Waziristan, killing at least 15 people.

Two missiles were fired at a car near the town of Wana, reportedly killing at least four people.

Shortly afterward, two missiles hit a compound in Wana belonging to Mullah Nazir's group -- one of the most influential Pakistani militant groups involved in fighting U.S.-led forces across the border in Afghanistan.

That strike reportedly killed at least six people.

Later, officials said missiles hit a vehicle in North Waziristan, killing five suspected militants.

The United States has stepped up attacks on militant targets in the tribal region along the Afghan border for more than a year.

Some reports suggest the death toll could be higher.
