Trump (left), the fourth of five children, poses for a family photo. His father, Fred Trump, was a successful New York real estate developer who loaned his son millions to help him start and build his business empire.

Trump married Czechoslovak-born Ivana Zelnickova in 1977. The couple is pictured here in 1989. They divorced shortly afterward. The couple had three children: Eric, Ivanka, and Donald Trump Jr.

Trump married actress and model Marla Maples in 1993.

Trump took ownership of the Miss Universe beauty pageant in 1996. Alicia Machado of Venezuela, who won the title that year, later spoke out against Trump for publicly bullying and insulting her.

Trump married Slovenian model Melania Knauss in 2005. Their son, Barron, was born in 2006.
