Egypt is reported to be holding seven people for questioning in connection with the New Year's Day bombing of a Coptic church in the northern city of Alexandria.
Twenty-one people were killed in the latest in a series of attacks on Christians in the Middle East and Africa.
Egyptian officials said there were indications that "foreign elements" were behind the blast and that it seemed to have been the work of a suicide bomber.
Security officials say another 10 people have been released after questioning.
