A female Afghan police officer, Zala Zazai, says she was forced to flee Afghanistan due to serious threats as the Taliban was taking over the country. She served in eastern Khost Province and was one of about 4,000 female officers in Afghanistan. Even before the government fell, Zazai had to endure a daily barrage of abuse on social media and intimidation from her male colleagues. In an interview with RFE/RL's Radio Azadi, Zazai says she is worried about the fate of other female police officers who are now "in hiding."
