Final Report On Russian Doping Scandal Delayed Until December

Anti-doping official Richard McLaren's July report on state-sponsored doping in Russia led to the ban of more than 100 Russian athletes from the Rio Olympics.

The publication of a final report into Russian state-sponsored doping and corruption at the Sochi Olympics has been delayed until December.

The World Anti-Doping Agency said on October 26 that Canadian law professor Richard McLaren expected to release his second report in "early December."

McLaren's interim report in July implicated Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko and more than 20 summer and winter sports in a widespread doping scandal. The report led to the ban of more than 100 Russian athletes from the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

The final report was originally expected by mid-November, when the anti-doping agency has board meetings in Glasgow, Scotland.

But McLaren said last month that completion was "at least several months away."

McLaren was appointed in May to investigate corruption claims by Grigory Rodchenkov, the Moscow's former drug-testing laboratory director.
