Mass Evacuations Ordered In Southern Russia, Northern Kazakhstan As Floods Surge

Tens of thousands of residents have fled the southern Russian city of Orenburg as the worst floods in decades continue to inundate the region. Many more homes have been damaged or destroyed across the border in northern Kazakhstan, where officials also ordered evacuations. Officials say rapidly rising spring temperatures have fueled sudden snowmelt, causing rivers to burst their banks and crack a critical dam.
