Authorities in France are to begin dismantling a migrant camp near the city of Calais after beginning an operation to clear it of some 6,500 people who have been living there.
Police on October 25 said some 2,300 people were removed from the camp the previous day and sent to processing centers in other parts of the country.
In the next phase of the operation, authorities will begin dismantling makeshift shelters by hand. Bulldozers will be sent in later in order to minimize the possibility of clashes.

British Interior Minister Amber Rudd said London has contributed 40 million euros toward the operation to clear the camp and boost border controls at Calais.
Dozens of people have been killed in recent months as migrants attempted to jump onto passing trucks or trains in a bid to reach the United Kingdom.
