At least eight people were killed and several others missing as flash floods hit the Georgian capital, Tbilisi. Power lines were torn down and cars swept away as the Vere River burst its banks following heavy rain on the night of June 13. The city's zoo was also flooded, allowing tigers, lions, wolves, and other dangerous animals to escape. Six wolves were killed by police at a children’s hospital. (RFE/RL’s Georgian Service)
