Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has offered visa-free travel to Russians in a unilateral initiative to improve relations between the two countries.
Saakashvili made the gesture during his annual address to parliament, saying that his administration is seeking better relations with Russia.
The two countries fought a war in August 2008, after which Moscow recognized two breakaway Georgian regions that Tbilisi now considers occupied.
Saakashvili said he will continue to fight for the "de-occupation" of the rebel regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Moscow has said that it will not have relations with Georgia as long as Saakashvili remains in power.
