Charges Dropped Against Tajik Partner Of Kremlin Adviser's Son

An immigrant maid from Tajikistan who is the girlfriend of the son of top Kremlin adviser and nationalist Sergei Glazyev has been freed from custody.

Media reports in Russia said on November 20 that a court in the Moscow region ruled on November 19 that all charges against Firuza Savushkina must be dropped as the sides agreed to solve the differences themselves.

The court's decision was made amid media reports about Savushkina's ordeal.

Savushkina, 31, was arrested in September and charged with making death threats to a fellow Tajik migrant.

Savushkina's boyfriend, Yury Glazyev, 23, has insisted that the case was fabricated by Glazyev's parents to keep the foreign maid away from him.

Sergei Glazyev is a former cabinet minister and lawmaker, who for the past two years has served as an adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
