Greece's Migration Minister Yiannis Mouzalas says a deal between the European Union and Turkey aimed at stopping the flow of migrants is largely holding.
But Mouzalas said on August 3 that Athens is watching with concern as events unfold in Turkey after an attempted military coup was thwarted in July.
Mouzalas denied that Athens has called on the EU to create a back-up plan in case Turkey reneges on the migration deal.
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said during the weekend that Ankara would drop its agreement with the EU if the bloc did not take action on its promise to allow visa-free travel for Turks.
The EU depends on Ankara to enforce the migrant deal and the agreement has sharply reduced the number of refugees and migrants leaving Turkey for Greece.
Athens continues to face a major financial crisis and has been struggling to cope with an influx of migrants.
