Gunmen Kill At Least Nine Across Iraq

Iraqi officials said at least nine people have died after a series of deadly attacks across the country.

In the deadliest attack, a car bomb exploded in a market in Al-Muqdadiyah, in northern Diyala Province, killing at least four people.

Another car bomb exploded in Baquba, the provincial capital of Diyala, killing two people and wounding several others.

Meanwhile, in the northern city of Mosul gunmen killed at least three people in two separate attacks.

The incidents come amid a wave of deadly attacks targeting Iraqi security forces.

Last week, Iraq's Al-Qaeda affiliate claimed responsibility for 27 shootings and other attacks on government and security officials in June and July.

Iraq's Health Ministry has said that militants killed 325 Iraqis in July, making it the bloodiest month in two years.
