Hard-Line Conservatives Lead In Iranian Parliamentary Elections

Initial results in Iran’s parliamentary elections showed conservatives were leading and on course to win a majority of seats. With concerns about the coronavirus and the disqualification of thousands of moderate candidates, turnout for the February 21 vote appeared to be low in Tehran and other cities.
