Canada Wins Second Match At World Hockey Championships

Canada thrashed Hungary 7-1 in Group B play at the World Ice Hockey Championships in Russia.

The May 8 win was the second straight for Canada, which won the tournament in 2015.

In the other Group B matches in St. Petersburg, Finland handled Germany 5-1, and Slovakia thrashed France 5-1.

Host Russia, playing in Group A in Moscow, beat Kazakhstan 6-4, bouncing back after losing their first match earlier in the week to the Czech Republic.

Also in Group A, Norway edged Switzerland 4-3 and Sweden beat Denmark 5-2.

Group A includes Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Latvia, Norway, Denmark, and Kazakhstan.

Group B comprises Canada, Finland, the United States, Slovakia, Belarus, France, Germany, and Hungary.
