Russian Human Rights Activist 'Attacked' Near Moscow

Yevgeny Bobrov,a human rights activist in Russia, says he was attacked in a village outside of Moscow.

MOSCOW -- A Russian human rights activist says he was beaten in the village of Selyatino near Moscow on December 14, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

Yevgeny Bobrov, the head of the Voskhod (Sunrise) human rights organization, told RFE/RL that two unknown men attacked him, and that he was diagnosed with concussion and received other minor injuries.

Bobrov said the attack is connected with his professional activities, which focus on helping foreigners, refugees, and labor migrants, mainly in Moscow and the surrounding region.
