An eruption by Iceland's most active volcano has shut down the island's main airport and threatened to cause more flight disruptions over Europe.
The Grimsvotn volcano erupted on May 21, spouting dark plumes of ash that also forced Denmark to close some airspace over Greenland.
The European Union said the ash cloud could enter British and Irish airspace later today.
Experts, however, say there is little chance of a repeat of last year's six-day travel chaos caused by the eruption of another Icelandic volcano, which left tens of thousands of people stranded across Europe.
