Iran's ISNA news agency quoted the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Mohammad-Ali Jafari, as saying that "the constant threats by the Zionists [Israel] proves the regime's serious enmity with Iran, which will eventually lead to a physical confrontation."
He added, "An attack would however be simultaneously their annihilation."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned of the possibility of a preemptive Israeli strike against Iran's disputed nuclear program, which it believes is aimed at giving the Islamic state a nuclear weapon.
