An Iranian diplomat has been killed by unidentified gunmen in the capital of Yemen, Sanaa.
The diplomat, identified as Ali Asghar Assadi, was wounded in a drive-by shooting at the Iranian ambassador's residence on January 17.
He later died in the hospital.
Hospital officials in Sanaa said the diplomat had been hit in the shoulder, abdomen, and stomach.
Another Iranian diplomat, Nour-Ahmad Nikbakht, was kidnapped in Sanaa in July and remains in captivity.
It is believed he is being held by Al-Qaeda militants.
Yemen has seen heavy fighting in the north of the country between Sunni Islamists and Shi'ite rebels.
The Sunni fighters charge that Iran is supporting the Shi'a.
