Iranian police say two attackers on a motorbike have thrown acid in the face of a Tehran hospital manager.
In a statement, police said Dr. Siamand Anvari, the head of Ziaian Hospital, was attacked late on November 29 while on his way home.
Mahmud Jabbarvand, one of the medics who treated Anvari, said he would not lose his vision.
Tehran police chief, Hossein Sajedinia, said the attackers -- a physician and a student -- have been arrested.
He said the motive was related to their profession.
Meanwhile, the official IRNA news agency reported that police arrested a man for throwing acid at the face of his wife in Shahreza, a town near Isfahan in central Iran.
Local police chief Colonel Hamid Amirkhani described the attack as a "family dispute."
The woman reportedly suffered minor injuries.
