Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has demolished a terrorist cell in the western province of Kermanshah.
In a statement issued to Iranian media on November 18, the IRGC said the operation was carried out in "recent days."
"A terrorist team in Kermanshah Province near the border was identified in recent days and its members were arrested in an operation," the statement said.
It added that "some military equipment" was confiscated in the operation.
A day earlier, the commander of IRGC in Kermanshah was quoted by Iranian news agencies as saying the IRGC and the Intelligence Ministry had arrested groups in Kermanshah trying to recruit fighters for the extremist group Islamic State (IS).
Intelligence Minister Mahmud Alavi said on November 15 that the recent terrorists attacks in Beirut and Paris should be regarded as a "serious alarm" when it comes to Iran's security.
