A top Iranian official will attend a meeting in Saudi Arabia on the conflict in Yemen.
Iran's Mehr news agency says Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Iran's deputy foreign minister for Middle East affairs, will attend the one-day special meeting in Jeddah of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on June 16.
In Geneva, peace talks are due to open later on June 15 between the combatants in Yemen's almost three-month-old conflict.
The talks hosted by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon are aimed at finding a political solution to end the fighting that has caused thousands of deaths in Yemen.
Delegates will first be meeting separately with UN officials, who will try to bring them closer together with the ultimate aim of getting them around the same table.
