Iran has equipped its Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) navy with drones and 1,000-kilometer-range missiles, Iranian news agencies reported on August 5, as the United State offers to put guards on commercial ships going through the Persian Gulf's Strait of Hormuz. "What do the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Indian Ocean have to do with America?" Shekarchi was quoted as saying by the semiofficial Tasnim news agency.
