Iran's Intelligence Ministry said it had arrested an Iranian man working for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.
The ministry did not identify the alleged CIA spy or disclose when he was seized. It said the man -- believed to be a U.S. citizen -- had been sent to Bagram military base in Afghanistan from where he headed to Iran for espionage work.
A ministry statement carried by the ISNA news agency said Iranian intelligence agents had already found out in Afghanistan about the man's mission, observed him until he crossed the Iranian border, and then arrested him.
Iran frequently announces the arrest of spies allegedly working for the United States and Israel, but without presenting any evidence.
