The naval commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards has announced that there will be another military exercise in the Strait of Hormuz in February.
Iranian state media quoted Admiral Ali Fadavi as saying Iran's navy would hold "another big exercise" in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz next month but that the drill would be "different" from previous exercises.
Iran recently finished a 10-day military exercise in the Strait of Hormuz on January 2.
The exercises have been taking place under the shadow of more international sanctions against Iran, targeting the country's oil exports.
Iranian officials initially said they might close the Strait of Hormuz to other oil-tanker traffic if the sanctions are imposed, but then subsequently played down this possibility.
