At Least Six Dead In Iraq Attacks

Bombings and shootings in Iraq have left at least six people dead, with some reports claiming twice that number have been killed as violence across Iraq continues.

Three people waiting at a bus stop in the northern city of Mosul were gunned down in a drive-by shooting.

In the northern town of Hawijah, two police officers were killed and seven more wounded when two suicide bombers set off their explosives at the gate of a police station.

At least one soldier was killed in a grenade attack at a checkpoint north of Baghdad that wounded two other soldiers.

Reports have started to come in about an attack in the predominantly Sunni town of Sharqat.

More than 5,400 people have been killed in violence across Iraq this year, nearly 1,000 of them in October alone.
