At Least Six Killed In Latest Iraq Attacks

Iraqi officials say at least six people have been killed across the country.

In the deadliest incident on August 23, gunmen killed three people inside their home in the Shi'ite town of Dujail, some 80 kilometers north of Baghdad.

In the capital, explosions outside two Sunni Muslim mosques killed three people and wounded a dozen more as worshippers were leaving Friday Prayers.

Violence in Iraq has surged amid rising political and sectarian tensions.

Nearly 1,000 Iraqis died in July, making it the deadliest month since 2008.

Attacks have killed more than 3,580 people since the beginning of 2013, according to figures compiled by AFP.
