Suicide Bombing In Baghdad Cafe Kills 12

At least 12 people were killed and 38 wounded when a suicide bomber struck a Baghdad cafe where customers were watching a soccer game on television.

The overnight attack occurred in the western part of the Iraqi capital.

Survivors said the bomber had socialized with people in the cafe before setting off his explosives-laden belt.

The deaths bring to 46 the number of people killed in bomb blasts, shootings, and other acts of violence in Iraq on March 19.

No one claimed responsibility for the cafe attack, but this and a series of similar bombing are blamed on an Al-Qaeda splinter group trying to undermine the Iraqi government's attempt to bring security to Baghdad.
