Iraqi police said a roadside bomb hit a French Embassy convoy traveling through Baghdad today.
Four Iraqi guards working for a private security company employed by the embassy were wounded in the explosion. Three bystanders were also injured.
One of the cars in the convoy was damaged.
The French ambassador, Denis Gauer, told the French AFP news agency that "no one in the car was hurt and there was no indication the bomb was especially targeting this vehicle."
Violence has plummeted in Iraq since its peak in 2006 and 2007, but roadside bombs are common, with similar attacks every day.
