Ireland Set To End Abortion Ban After Historic Referendum

Irish pro-choice campaigners celebrated exit poll results on May 26 indicating that their country had voted overwhelmingly to repeal a 1983 constitutional ban on abortions. According to the first official results of Ireland's historic referendum held the previous day, 66 percent voted in favor of reforming the law under which abortion is legal only in rare cases when a woman's life is in danger.
