A women's freedom march in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, was disrupted on March 8 as its participants were pelted with stones from a counterprotest held by Islamists and conservatives. At least seven people were reported injured. Authorities had sanctioned both rallies taking place on International Women's Day on the same major avenue but installed a divider to separate the two camps.
