Israeli Mortar Fire Kill Four Civilians In Gaza

A Palestinian man at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City cries near the body of a relative killed in an Israeli military strike on March 22.

Palestinian officials say an Israeli military strike has killed four family members and wounded 13 others in the Gaza Strip after days of rocket attacks and air raids.

Three of those killed were reportedly children.

The Israeli army confirmed it had fired mortar shells toward the eastern outskirts of Gaza City shortly after four rockets hit Israel, and it expressed "regret" over reports that civilians had been harmed.

The attack came after Israeli aircraft bombed two suspected militant tunnels and weapons-manufacturing and -storage facilities and two other militant sites across the Gaza Strip.
