Moscow municipal lawmaker Aleksei Gorinov, who was handed a prison term in July for his stance against Russia's aggression against Ukraine, has been transferred to a prison infirmary for unspecified health problems, the politician’s supporters said on Telegram on December 16. Gorinov was the first elected official in Russia to be convicted under Russia’s law on “distributing false information” passed in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February.
